Split system

Why install a split system?

Split systems are ideal to cool or heat one room or a specific area of a home or business.

Some of the benefits of a split system include:

  • Suited for smaller and single rooms.
  • You can add more units at any time.
  • Quality and energy efficient.
  • Split systems are cheaper than installing a ducted system.
  • They have a quiet mode feature, so you can have a good night sleep!

How is this different to a ducted system?

A ducted system is usually installed in the ceiling with duct work to the areas you want to cool or heat. This system is used to cool or heat an entire house or building. The finish is sleek with discreet grilles and a controller.

A split system has a visible indoor unit which is mounted on the wall. It will cool or heat the room where it’s located.

Ducted system

Why install a ducted system?

Ducted systems are ideal if you want to heat or cool multiple rooms in a home or business. Usually the internal unit and duct work are hidden in the ceiling or under floor. This means you will only see the discreet grilles and controller in the room. The grilles locations blend seamlessly with the interior design while providing comfortable, balanced and gentle airflow within the room.

Some advantages of installing a ducted system include:

  • It can cool multiple rooms, an entire house or business.
  • By utilising zone control, you can heat or cool the rooms you want. This maximises energy efficiency.
  • Designed to maintain an even temperature throughout your house or business.

Do you want to choose the areas you want to cool or heat?

A ducted system can be zoned to allow you to choose the area of your home or office that you want to heat or cool. You can set multiple zones for superior comfort levels throughout the area and maximise energy efficiency.

Here are the typical zones you can set:

Zone 1: Bedrooms
Zone 2: Kitchen and Family Room
Zone 3: Dining and Living Room

Multi system

Why install a multi system?

Do you want to cool or heat multiple rooms but have no ceiling space for a ducted unit?

You can install an inverter multi-split system air conditioning unit. It allows up to four indoor split units to be connected to just one outdoor unit. This improves outdoor space and style and makes for an economic multi-room solution.

Some advantages of installing a multi split system include:

  • Multiple indoor units powered by one outdoor unit
  • Ability to choose the right size unit to cool or heat that room
  • Flexibility to adjust each room temperature
  • It can be more affordable compared to a ducted air conditioning system
  • You can add in extra indoor units later down the track if needed
  • More affordable maintenance because there’s only one outdoor unit to maintain compared to having multiple.

A ducted system is usually installed in the ceiling with duct work to the areas you want to cool or heat. This means you will only see the discreet grilles and controller in the room.

A multi split system has a visible indoor unit which is mounted on the wall. The indoor unit is the same as a standard split system. It will cool or heat the rooms where the indoor units are located.

A standard split system outdoor unit doesn’t have the capability to have multiple indoor units connected to it compared to a multi split system.
